In the northeastern section of Rocky Ford is the Schafer Ranch which consists of a large farmhouse, a shed, several barns, and a boarded up, smaller home. You can enter all of the buildings with the exception of the boarded home.

Three generations of the Schafer family which translates to six people live in the farmhouse: 1) Fiona Schafer (widow of Josef), 2) Otto Schafer (widower and oldest son of Fiona), 3) Josef (Otto's oldest son, named after his grandfather), 4) Mac (Otto's second son), 5) Odo (Otto's third son), and 6) Rolf (Otto's youngest son). By default, three of the Schafer boys are marriage candidates. Mac has his own story for you to pursue; however, he can alternately be a marriage candidate.

Otto runs a shop in the front room of the family home where you can buy items related to farming and, especially, keeping animals.
