Matius is the third of Greta and Helmut Schafer's five children and lives in the Pickle Shop in Stoffton with his parents and three of his four siblings. Matius was born and raised in Stoffton and currently attends Stoffton Academy in the elementary classroom. He is the oldest of four cousins who were born over a span of two years: Matius, Makena and Isla (twins), and Garth.
